Description
Quarter Space
(Unique Gift Piece)
I am selling my Invader mosaic that I was given in 2003 by Invader following the birth of my daughter the previous year.
He suggested at the time that one day it might pay her college fees. Well, it is now time to pay them.
Invader and I have worked together since 1998. He did live video interventions for my band, and ”invaded” the towns we played.
We did some other video performances together, released a vinyl single together in 1999 and I did space invader music for an exhibition of his in Paris 2003.
He put an Invader on the corner of my street in Paris the same year.
Later, my daughter used to go round regularly to Invader’s atelier with me, and he showed her how to make mini-mosaics ( tiny tiles) while we talked.
I was surprised to see that he later returned one of these slightly mangled 5 year old pre-school invader versions to British soil, installing it under a bridge in Shoreditch: there’s a photo of it in his ”Invasion of London” book.
Last year I released with him the a vinyl LP – a record of our 2011 live collaboration for his ”Invader X1000” expo in Paris la Generale.

From Invader to the owner of the piece:
“It was made for you, and there are not two like this, It is a “pièce unique” (not an invasion kit, not an edition) and it is not an Alias, it does not exist in the street.”
As far as Invader can remember, there are only 2 or 3 Quarter ones, and the ones on wood he only did for friends.
