Celeste Byers
Celeste Byers is an artist based in Los Angeles, California known for painting large-scale murals for over a decade. Originally from San Diego, California, Celeste relocated to Los Angeles in 2023 to expand her career in fine art painting.
After graduating with a BFA in Illustration from the Art Center College of Design in 2012, Celeste transitioned into a career as a prolific freelance illustrator and muralist. Her artistic footprint extends globally, with over 100 murals adorning spaces across the United States, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Taiwan, New Zealand, and Australia. Her illustrative prowess has earned international acclaim and has been featured in publications spanning the United States, Germany, France, and Hong Kong.
Celeste’s new body of work and artistic focus has been an exploration of her mixed heritage—half White and half Chinese American—interweaving her narrative with her creative expression. Through her paintings, she explores themes of cultural identity, drawing inspiration from her background to infuse her work with evocative representations that celebrate her dual heritage with surreal undertones. Melding the beauty of her cultural roots with the mystical and her innate connection to the natural world, her art resonates with a profound exploration of identity, heritage, and the enchanting facets that shape her worldview and perception of the magic and beauty of our universe.
