“March 17, 2021… The day…

The day to remember for eternity, 

My kidneys shutting down, ravaged by lupus, 

The Doctor reviewed my options, 

A tube must venture into my belly, 

Only to be done with LA (local anesthesia), 

I need to go through dialysis, 

Maybe 3, 4 or 5 times a day, who knows… 

When I lie on the operating theatre, 

I can see what they are doing, 

The pain is excruciating, 

I call out to the people, 

They could only look at me with concern, 

But nothing alleviates my fear and helplessness, 

It was despair I felt in my abdomen, 

I see nothing as exit except death.”
