“Inspired by new beginnings and the start of another day, we can let the past wash over us and start fresh. I wanted to use the warmth of the sun and its colours, radiating from the figure, so that we notice the little things that make us happy. I enjoyed adding the marbled mist that sweeps up the portrait. Part of her face is obscured as she rebuilds herself.”
